storm clouds stacking up against the eastern side of the sierra nevadas, as seen from the road coming out of bodie. ended up cold and rainy, starting in early afternoon and lasting late into the night.

mount lassen from helen lake - 89 was still closed, had to park at bumpass hell trailhead and walk up to mount lassen trailhead. lower portion of mount lassen trail still covered so, we had to forge our own way up to the exposed portion where we were able to locate the formal trail.

i LOVE living here, this is what living in california is *all* about - january, winter, 70 degrees, beautiful coastside sunsets... one really couldn't ask for more.
